12th Annual Kick-Off to Summer Celebration Recap

The 12th Annual Kick-Off to Summer Celebration held on Friday, June 24, 2022 was a huge success! Nearly 200 guests joined us for a wonderful evening at the Kilburn Mill overlooking Clark’s Cove in New Bedford.  The evening began at 6:00 pm with cocktails, entertainment from the Mac and the Boys, and the beautiful sunset view from the Kilburn Mills outside deck.    Guests also took part in our Silent Auction – from sparkly Swarovski crystal purses to tickets for Yankees vs. Red Sox and everything in between…our guests help raise money by outbidding each other during our unique, one-of-a-kind Silent Auction.

From there, our guests entered the main ballroom and enjoyed a delectable dinner from On the Go Catering.  During dinner, Saint Vincent’s CEO, Kristen Dutra, and Director of Development, Jenny Mello Reis, introduced and presented the Carlin Lynch Humanitarian Award to Mrs. Francis Lynch.

Mr. Carlin Lynch, a friend and former Member of the Saint Vincent’s Services Board of Directors., often referred to as “Coach”, lived and breathed the definition of “Humanitarian”.  Those who were lucky enough to know him will remember his love for his family, his never-ending smile, and his dedication to our community and those less fortunate, especially children.

This award will forever more honor individuals, who like Carlin, demonstrate outstanding commitment to fostering the well-being of children, adolescents, families, and the community we live in.   The Carlin Lynch Humanitarian Award will be given to selfless individuals who work behind the scenes without seeking the limelight for their efforts while lending credit to others; Reaching out to the community or to individuals to help overcome an obstacle without expecting rewards or recognition.  This award represents Mr. Lynch and all that “Coach” stood for.

A special thank you to our guests who listened to the story of “Rachel” and felt compelled to support the young mothers in the Young Parent Living Program.  Together those guests raised nearly $15,000 during the evening’s Fund A Need program.  The money raised during those five minutes will support the newest program at Saint Vincent’s.  A program designed specifically to help young mothers learn the life skills needed to care for their children.

The night ended with the dance floor packed as guests danced the night away to music from Massive Groove Band.

The evening was a huge success and we need to thank all of our guests and sponsors – this event wouldn’t be possible without their support.

A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, BayCoast Bank, for their continued support of our programs.
