We are prepared and ready to help. As the situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop and spread throughout the Southcoast of Massachusetts, our entire staff team is working to continue to provide for the needs of our clients and reliable access to the important services you count on. Promoting health and safety. For everyone. Nothing is more important to us than your health and safety, and the need to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus. Saint Vincent’s is taking multiple steps to minimize health risks to our clients, staff members and our communities, including enhanced cleaning procedures in our residential environments and our Mental Health Clinic. Friends of Saint Vincent's;As we all deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in our lives and, for provider agencies like Saint Vincent’s Services, the impact on the clients and families we serve, it is critical that we also acknowledge and take a stand, relative to the tragic death of George Floyd and the threat of racism, which is another endemic sickness which threatens all of us. Racism rears its head when Black lives are devalued, threatened or put in harm’s way. While the recent responses to the taking of the life of a Black man have begun as peaceful protests by most, many have resulted in violent, destructive and hateful actions which is not only disappointing but frightening and quite sad. Saint Vincent’s Services serves many minority children, youth and families from the Southcoast area in our programs and we have an obligation to come to a meaningful understanding of what it means for those clients to live in the dark shadow of racial bigotry and injustice. Racial inequality is not just an issue for any minority community or group which experiences lack of acceptance or understanding. Social justice must be held as a value by all of us to ensure that no one is treated inequitably based on their color, beliefs or culture. We all need to act to prevent and eliminate domination of, exploitation of, and discrimination against any person, group, or class on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin,

Join us as we celebrate National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. A day observed each year to raise public awareness about the importance of children's mental health and focus on promoting positive mental health, well-being and social development for all children and youth.    Saint Vincent’s Services outpatient clinical team consists of clinical social workers, mental health clinicians, child psychiatrists and psychologists who will work with you and your child to develop a treatment plan that responds to your child’s specific needs and symptoms. Saint Vincent’s outpatient mental health clinic provides assessment and interventions focused exclusively on the needs of children, youth and families. It is normal for children and youth to feel sad and not themselves sometimes, especially during this unprecedented and prolonged crisis, which has impacted all of our lives in ways that were unimaginable several months ago. Such experiences can make it difficult for children to engage in activities which they usually enjoy and look forward to.  How can you help if your child is having a hard time handling the stresses of COVID-19: In the absence of school, provide structure through the day and plan opportunities for learning and creativity. Listen to your child’s fears and anxieties.  They are real and your child will benefit from being heard and understood. With social distancing the expectation, create safe opportunities for connection within your family and with friends and loved ones to lessen feelings of isolation. Provide breaks from prolonged stay-at-home orders

The global pandemic, COVID-19, is impacting all of us and Saint Vincent's Services is not exempted. #GivingTuesdayNow, a day of giving and unity is designed to support generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. During the pandemic Saint Vincent's has continued to offer community based services, residential care and support through our outpatient mental health clinic for children, youth and families in need. Efforts to keep the children, youth and staff at Saint Vincent's safe have significantly impacted our day-to-day operations. The cost associated with the increased need to purchase Personal Protection Equipment, cleaning supplies, extra food, and the additional staffing required to provide services throughout this crisis is significant.. We invite you to celebrate #GivingTuesdayNow with a donation to help us sustain our current programs and services, especially during this difficult time. Together we are making a difference and will continue with our Mission to provide children, youth and families with Treatment, Care and Transformation.
